The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rendered a retirement ceremony in honor of PCG Inspector General, CG Rear Admiral Christopher Toledo Villacorte, as he bowed out after more than 36 years of public service at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila yesterday, 29 July 2022.

PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr graced the said event and conferred the Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medal and Ribbon to CG Rear Admiral Villacorte in recognition of his significant contributions to the Coast Guard service.

It was followed by a turnover of command wherein CG Commodore Mitzie Silva-Campo assumed the duties and responsibilities as the new Acting Commander of the Coast Guard Inspector General  and Internal Affairs Service (CGIGIAS) after serving as its Deputy Commander.

Subsequently, CG Vice Admiral Punzalan Jr presided over the donning and oath taking for CG Rear Admiral Villacorte (Ret) as newly appointed member of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) Executive Squadron.

CG Rear Admiral Villacorte is a native Bulakeño, born in San Miguel, Bulacan on 13 September 1966.

He started his military career when passed the pre-qualifications in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and became a member of the “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992.

He was appointed to the rank of Ensign on 16 February 1992 in the Philippine Navy and later on transferred to the PCG on 15 April 1998.

He was assigned to different vessels: Barko Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Catanduanes (PG-62), BRP Bessang (AU-75), and BRP Pampanga (SARV-003).

During his shore assignment, he was assigned to different districts as Admin; Operations; Logistics; Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information System; Marine Environmental Protection officer; and as Deputy Commander.

In 2001, he was assigned at the PCG National Headquarters and handled different staff offices.

He was also became Deputy Commander of Maritime Security Command and the Coast Guard Education and Training Command.

On 11 June 2020, he became the Commander of Coast Guard Internal Affairs Service (CGIAS), now renamed as CGIGIAS.

CG Rear Admiral Villacorte is a man of discipline, integrity, justice, service, and a loving husband to his wife, Mrs. Sandra, and responsible father to his daughters, Chrissa Marie and Vera Alexis.
