The twelfth PCG district situated at Barangay Centro 9, Aparri, Cagayan was activated by virtue of HPCG General Order Number 248 dated 06 September 2011.

The maritime waters of the whole Region II and the Aurora province of Region III are being passionately guarded by three Coast Guard stations strategically sup-ported by 22 sub-stations.

The Coast Guard Station Aurora has been vigilantly on watch to seven coastal towns with 48 barangays and totals to 332 kilometers of coastlines of Aurora province. Similarly, Isabela Province composed of four coastal towns with 45 ba-rangays and a total of 113 kilometers of coastlines and to include the Benham Rise, are all being provided with maritime security and safety together with its supporting units.

While the Coast Guard Station Batanes secures the northernmost part of the country, the Batanes Province composed of six coastal towns with 29 barangays, the coastline and total sea are 106 kilometers and 7,650 square nautical miles cautiously manned along with its three PCG sub-stations

The third Coast Guard station of CGDNELZN, the CGS Cagayan which is co-located with CGDNELZN temporary building, covers the area of Cagayan Valley composed of 14 coastal towns with a total of 95,135 square nautical miles sea are and 740 kilometers of coastline being secured of, together with its five Coast Guard sub-stations named after from the municipality there are presently located.
