The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) K9 Field Operating Unit Southwestern Mindanao augmented the interception of 500 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu” at the cargo area of an airline company in Zamboanga City on 08 August 2022.
Coast Guard Working Dog (CGWD) Bunny detected the said contraband with an estimated market value of Php 3.4 million.
Based on the investigation, the package was shipped by a certain Farhana Maddih from Basilan and was supposed to be received by a certain Dayana Ismael from Quezon City.

INCIDENT REPORT: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responds to a maritime incident involving MV FILIPINAS CEBU that ran aground in the vicinity waters between Igbon Island and Agho Island in Concepcion, Iloilo at around 12:08 a.m. today, 09 August 2022.
The said RoRo / passenger vessel of the Cokaliong Shipping Lines departed from Iloilo at around 07:14 p.m. (08 August 2022) bound for Cebu.
According to its skipper, 57-year-old Captain Alexander Wahing, the 223 passengers and 38 crew onboard (including him) remain safe and free from injury.

According to MV FILIPINAS CEBU’s master, the helmsman (person who steers the ship) fell asleep while underway, causing the vessel to run aground.
