A total of 449 bundles of undocumented used clothes locally known as "ukay-ukay" with an approximate market value of Php 5.1 million were seized by law enforcement operatives at Matnog Port in Sorsogon yesterday, 05 November 2021.

During random paneling and inspection, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Regional Office V, Coast Guard Sub-Station Matnog, Coast Guard K9 Team Matnog, and Coast Guard Intelligence Unit Sorsogon apprehended the cargo of a wing van truck after its driver failed to present pertinent documents.

The truck and confiscated goods were turned over to the BOC for proper disposition.

The Philippine Coast Guard is one with the BOC in conducting border control measures to eradicate smuggling and other types of customs fraud in the country.
