Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, has joined the ASEAN COAST GUARD AND MARITIME LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES MEETING 2022, held in Bali, Indonesia, from 22 to 23 November 2022.

CG Admiral Abu and his fellow heads of Coast Guard counterparts in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam reaffirmed their pledge to serve as DRIVING FORCES in advocating peace, security, safety, stability, prosperity, and friendship in the ASEAN region.

They also recognized the need to enhance mutual trust, strengthen the connection, and improve cooperation among Coast Guards in upholding regional maritime security and maritime safety.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will install four aids to navigation, specifically navigational lanterns, in Batanes.

This morning, 26 November 2022, the PCG conducted a send-off ceremony for BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), that will perform the said operation.

According to PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, the navigational lanterns will be installed in four critical lighthouses in Sabtang, Mahatao, Ivana, and Valanga.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted medical and dental missions in Orani, Bataan, on 20 November 2022.

Approximately 500 residents received minor medical surgeries, dental cleaning, and eye consultation.

Food packs and clean clothes were also given to the beneficiaries.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announces that the United States will provide additional funding to support the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and other Philippine maritime law enforcement agencies on board BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) in Puerto Princesa, Palawan today, 22 November 2022.

U.S. Vice President Harris said this is to increase the concerned agencies' capacity; counter Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing; enhance their monitoring systems; and upgrade their equipment.
