Special Operations Course (CGSOC) have bravely conquered their fear of heights (altophobia) after an exacting training on rappelling and fast roping in Headquarters, Naval Special Operations Group (HNAVSOG), Naval Base Cavite, Sangley Point, Cavite City.

The CGSOC Class 01-15 and the Female Rescue Diver's Course (FRDC) Class 02-15 participated at the said training last MArch 03-04 with a total of six officers and 55 non-officers.

The trainees were required by the Special Operations School to undergo rappelling and fast roping from a 35-foot jump-tower prior to the conduct of actual helicopter rappelling, fast roping, helicopter casting and NATO-Y --- the most favored method of guiding a helicopter into a landing zone in the dark.

Meanwhile, the FRDC performed the sit hip, run down, lizard, spider and rappel with a victim. The same exercises were done by the CGSOC with the addition of fast roping.
