Five (5) fishermen onboard F/Bca “Antalan Tabat” are now being searched for by the Coast Guard after they went missing from a fishing venture at vicinity waters approximately 30 nautical miles away from Scarborough Shoal in Masinloc, Zambales on November 21.

Reports from Coast Guard District National Capital Region – Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL) disclosed that a certain Mr. Jereco Taneo, 51 years old and skipper of F/bca “Love Miles – 2” who was also on fishing operations with F/bca “Antalan Tabat”, reported the incident to Coast Guard Sub-station Sta. Cruz at 5 PM of November 25.

He further stated they departed the Scarborough Shoal area on Nvember 21 at 6 P.M enroute to Sta. Cruz, Zambales when they noticed that F/bca “Antalan Tabat” was left behind. Taneo and his crew arrived at Sta. Cruz at 11:30 in the evening.

The missing fishing banca was described to be painted white and brown and powered by an EZK engine.

Upon receiving the report, PCG Commandant Rear Admiral William Melad immediately directed and dispatched BRP Tubbataha (MRRV-4401) and PCG Islander to conduct search and rescue operations to the five missing fishermen who were identified as follows:

Allan Rivera 19 Y/O  

 

Coast Guard advised all fisherfolks of Zambales particularly those who are fishing at the vicinity of Scarborough Shoal to be on the look-out for F/Bca “Antalan Tabat” and to render necessary assistance if sighted.

A Notice to Mariners were also issued to all vessels transiting in the area to conduct necessary assistance to the fishermen if found.
