The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has welcomed Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary for Maritime Elmer Sarmiento at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, today, 18 August 2022.

On his first visit to the Coast Guard, PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, showcased the organization's personnel, assets, and equipment for upholding maritime law enforcement, maritime security, maritime safety, maritime search and rescue, and marine environmental protection.

Aside from the K9 teams that augment security measures in various transport hubs across the country, the PCG also presented its deployable response groups (DRGs) and quick response teams (QRTs) in times of calamities and emergencies.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District North Eastern Luzon conducted medical evacuation for one injured crew of MV Neptune Barcelona in the vicinity waters off Barangay San Vicente, Sta. Ana, Cagayan, yesterday, 14 August 2022.

The PCG team carefully ferried 29-year-old Aaron Paul Miral (ordinary seaman) who had an infected wound on his left foot.

He was transferred to an ambulance that brought him to the nearest hospital for medical assistance.

Sixty Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) officers and personnel participated in the PCG MODERNIZATION PLAN PRIMING WORKSHOP held in Manila on 11 to 12 August 2022.

The Office of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Strategic Studies and Modernization, CG-15 initiated the activity to craft a REALISTIC, RELIABLE, AND SUSTAINABLE PCG CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

In his message, Marine Environmental Protection Commander, CG Rear Admiral Robert Patrimonio, emphasized that the workshop results shall serve as a baseline for facing existing challenges.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in rescuing three passengers of a distressed motorbanca in the vicinity waters off Barangay Batulaki, Glan, Sarangani Province, on 12 August 2022.

The rescued individuals were identified as 34-year-od Judith Palo, 30-year-old Jamdil Arabi, and 27-year-old Dandan Wahabe Paro — all residents of Barangay Mabila, Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
