The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Eastern Visayas apprehended 16 fishermen onboard five motorbancas engaged in illegal fishing in the vicinity waters off Calbayog City on 08 November 2022.

The PCG team sighted the said motorbancas while conducting a seaborne patrol off Barangay Malajog, Calbayog City.

Coast Guard personnel inspected the five motorbancas and found that the fishermen used active gears and fine mesh nets.

The PCG team brought the fishermen and the confiscated illegal fishing paraphernalia to the Calbayog City Agriculture Office for the filing of appropriate charges.
