INCIDENT REPORT: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responds to a maritime incident involving MV FILIPINAS CEBU that ran aground in the vicinity waters between Igbon Island and Agho Island in Concepcion, Iloilo at around 12:08 a.m. today, 09 August 2022.

The said RoRo / passenger vessel of the Cokaliong Shipping Lines departed from Iloilo at around 07:14 p.m. (08 August 2022) bound for Cebu.

According to its skipper, 57-year-old Captain Alexander Wahing, the 223 passengers and 38 crew onboard (including him) remain safe and free from injury.

Dagdag pa rito, naghandog din ang PCG at PCGA ng mga school supplies para sa mga estudyante ng Baclaran Elementary School. Nakatanggap ang mga kabataan ng bag, lapis, notebook, papel, pambura, pantasa, pang-kulay, plastic envelope, COVID-19 kit, at hygiene kit.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Northwestern Luzon and PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) District – Northwestern Luzon conducted GIFT-GIVING AND MEDICAL MISSIONS at Nasudi Center for Women and Children in San Fernando, La Union on 29 July 2022.

The beneficiaries received medical consultations and dental services, as well as food packs, school supplies, sports equipment, hygiene kits, and face masks.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Central Visayas has seized a wing van truck loaded with smuggled cigarettes onboard MV Lite Ferry 17 from Dapitan Port in Zamboanga del Norte to Mainit Port in Oslob, Cebu on 01 August 2022.

The estimated market value for the said shipment was Php 2,116,000. Based on the investigation, the smuggled cigarettes came from Malaysia.

The apprehending team, composed of the PCG Sub-Station Oslob and PCG Intelligence Group-Central Visayas, inspected the items that were declared canned goods. The smuggled cigarettes were also tightly packed inside canned sardine boxes.

Siniguro ng BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) at BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403) na MAGIGING LIGTAS ang sasakyang pandagat na "M/V UNAIZA MAE 2" na may kargang pagkain, gamot, damit, maintenance and repair equipment, at iba pang pangangailangan ng mga sundalong naka-deploy sa BRP Sierra Madre (LS-57).

Dagdag pa rito, nagsagawa rin ng MARITIME PATROL AT REPROVISIONING MISSION ang BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) sa Patag Island, Likaw Island, Lawak Island, at Pag-asa Island na binabantayan ng PCG Station Kalayaan sa Kalayaan, Palawan.
