The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to a maritime incident reported on 22 January 2023 and successfully rescued a U.S. citizen on board a watercraft at the Pacific Ocean approximately 140 nautical miles off Daku Island, General Luna, Surigao del Norte, today, 25 January 2023.
The distressed watercraft "MI AMOR" broke its propeller during its voyage from Palau to the Philippines. It was also reported to be taking in water.
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector-Guam immediately coordinated with the PCG-manned Maritime Rescue Coordinating Center-Manila for assistance.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Sorsogon responds to a maritime incident involving a domestic cargo vessel, LCT REGENT 101 that ran aground in the vicinity waters off Sitio Boracay, Barangay Luneta, Barcelona, Sorsogon, on 20 January 2023.
The distressed vessel is owned and operated by Southern Regent Shipping Inc.
Based on the initial investigation, LCT REGENT 101 departed from Lazi, Siquijor at around 3AM on 19 January 2023 en route to Lidong, Albay.
While navigating the vicinity waters off Barcelona, the vessel encountered strong winds and big waves, causing it to be drifted into the shallow waters.
